orange Gruppe are the three musicians Akiko Ahrendt, Annie Bloch and Dennis Dycks with their instruments and their electronic extensions. The unusual combination of violin, organ and feedback-sounds as well as tape-manipluation challenges the boundaries of free improvisation and conceptual composition. Despite the differences of the instruments the ensemble is always looking for similarities in sound that become the starting point of their improvisations. The practice of imitation and convergence is asking for extended playing techniques and sets a focus on the individual and the group; if the singularity or community is even detectable for the listener and if drawing a line between either is redundant itself.
Die orange Gruppe sind die drei Musiker:innen Akiko Ahrendt, Annie Bloch und Dennis Dycks mit ihren Instrumenten und deren Erweiterungen.
Mit der ungewohnten Kombination aus Geige, Orgel und Mischpult sowie elektronischen Erweiterungen werden Grenzen zwischen freier Improvisation und konzeptueller Komposition ausgelotet. Das Instrumentarium wird erweitert durch Looper und Gitarrenpedale bei der Geige, elektronische bzw. virtuell-analoge Klangerzeugung bei der Orgel und beim Mischpultspieler werden die Feedback-Sounds gelegentlich mit Bandmaschinen- und Tapemanipulationen ergänzt. Trotz der Unterschiedlichkeit der Instrumente wird immer wieder nach Gemeinsamkeiten im Sound gesucht und dies als Ausgangspunkt für Improvisationen genommen. Die gegenseitige Imitation und Annäherung fordert experimentelle Spieltechniken heraus und ist zugleich eine Frage nach den Grenzen von Individuum (Solo) und Gruppe (Duo,Trio) und ob diese Grenzen hörbar sind bzw. ob eine Grenzziehung ohnehin hinfällig ist.
